“An extremely valuable, must-have resource to keep alongside the Book of Heaven!”
Questions and Answers on the Divine Will offers an organic, in-depth and accessible presentation of the teaching entrusted by Jesus to the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta (1865-1947) concerning the gift of living in the Divine Will.
Illuminated by Sacred Scripture and by the doctrine of the Church, particularly the Catechism of the Catholic Church, it is based primarily on Luisa's three major works: the Book of Heaven, The Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will and The Twenty-Four Hours of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Written by Philippe Martin, who runs Amen Fiat, with a foreword by Father Gabriel Marie Tchonang, Doctor of Theology and Moderator of the Association Française Luisa Piccarreta, this work seeks to receive in faith the full depth and boldness of these writings, while clearly situating them within the sacramental, moral and spiritual life of the Church.
“It is therefore urgent that these truths be read and taught not only with enthusiasm and fervor, but also with a right understanding of the Lord’s words, far from any approximation or distortion. […] This first and substantial work on the Divine Will […] meets all these criteria and undoubtedly constitutes a major tool for understanding the Book of Heaven and God’s plan in the third Fiat.”
Through a general introduction and fourteen major parts, the work follows the unfolding of a single design of love, whose principal stages are these:
Each question includes a brief answer, a doctrinal development, quotations from the primary sources, an articulation with the Catholic faith and an essential formula to remember. Luisa's quotations are presented in translation together with their original Italian text, allowing for a faithful and verifiable reading.
The work also includes a practical guide for beginning to live concretely in the Divine Will, a glossary, keys for interpretation, a thematic index, a study of the most difficult passages of the Book of Heaven, and a condensed version summarising the essential content of all 214 answers.
This work does not claim to replace the reading of Luisa Piccarreta's writings. On the contrary, it seeks to open the door to them, illuminate their principal themes and provide readers with the necessary points of reference to explore them more deeply within the faith of the Church.
Living in the Divine Will never means being freed from the commandments, the sacraments, the Cross or obedience to the Church. It means allowing the Will of God itself to become, by grace and within a communion that always remains free, the living principle of our thoughts, words and actions.
